I own the 308BHDS and it's a great layout. Hideout is the low end of a mediocre manufacturer so go in with your eyes wide open. Mine has been pretty much trouble free but that's not always the case. And, I'm handy and have fixed a lot of little things.
You can get to both bathrooms in the 308 with the slides closed which is nice for stops with multiple people. Overall, it's a great layout... don't kid yourself, it's a big and heavy trailer. Forget any chance of staying within payload #s with a 2500 diesel. I'm over my GVWR by 300-500# with a 3000# payload truck and I have less in my truck than you will with 5+ people and dog, etc.
