Yes, but as you know those vintage RAM are/were very capable.
I towed a 12,400 pound trailer for 11 years. With combined weight of over 20K loaded heavy for snowbirding.
Truck tuned to around 325-350 hp and 600-650 ft lbs. Banks exhaust brake and DTT custom tranny. 4.10 gears.
Licensed in Washington State for 12K GVW.

Sir you are correct as I towed a 32.5' Avion Platinum with my 98 RAM 2500 12 valve 4x4 at a combined 20,500#. It did a fine job and even with 17" 3rd gen tires and wheels I was under their max weight rating.
