2004 wilderness advantage 28 ft fifth wheel no power

Thank you all for your suggestions. I re wired the existing plug into the conduit box below and sealed it all up with shrink tubing and electrical wiring. I have power now.

I agree with donpop. We always plug our trailer into our garage when we are at home prepping for a trip and it suddenly popped the breaker after 3 years. We tried different outlets outside the house and same thing. We were so worried that there was something seriously wrong and we were about ready to leave for a week long trip. We happened to have a spare adapter for the end of our plug to go between 30 and 50 amp and that was it. The old one went bad. You may want to try that first, since it's relatively cheap.

Alright i re wired and now have power thank God i am doing it right and not just using wire nuts like the last owner. Ready for a new adventure.

Ok so changed the gfci and still nothing went under the camper and opened up where plug goes into trailer and the wires are fried. So hopefully I can re wire the cord or replace it and be up and running.

Ok I went back and checked my GFI in the bathroom and went to reset and it does not click. I think this may be the problem so I will start here.

Power fails on mine just like that once a month or so. So far, it's been a campground blackout, or bad campground wiring, or the trailer main breaker. Never anything else.
- check shore power (the pedestal). Does the fellow next door have power? Use a voltmeter (handy to have at times like this) or plug something else into it - lamp, vacuum, phone charger. If there is power there:
- check the plug (your trailer's) for corrosion.
- check the main breaker. In my Wilderness, it's on a panel at the rear of the trailer near the floor. The main breaker is on top of the row of breakers. If resetting this breaker - flip it all the way off, then back on - doesn't help,and shore power is intact, check for voltage at the main breaker (need a voltmeter).

The convertor being bad would only effect the 12volt side. With your cord pluged into the pedestal use a meter or test light and see if you have 110v in your breaker box. If not I'm betting you have a bad plug on the end of your cord that needs replaced. Over time they corrode and get hot and a wire connection may be bad.
