Thanks to everyone else with the helpful information.
Excellent, I'll go check it out today.
Going through the budget, $15k for a truck it near the top of what I can spend.
Thanks for this. I used to be the admin for a huge forum in an unrelated industry and we didn't have any issues with members making asses of themselves. Our members seemed to relish in educating new members. Kind of a "dispensing knowledge only makes us stronger" mentality. Anyway, thanks!
I have driven this truck (the one from the page 1 photo) and I know what you mean. My DD is a 1978 Full Size Jeep Cherokee. It has a T18 tranny (4 on the floor) and that thing drives like nothing else. My daughter drives a manual and has a lot of trouble with my Jeep. She just calls it "The Beast" and doesn't ask to borrow :)
That was what I originally thought the weight was. The PO of this Ford has a 14k trailer and he said he never any any trouble (seller is trusted).

In the end, I want to try and stay with the trailer we picked out. It is the only one that we've seen that has the floor plan we want. We are going to be in this for one year so we better like it (then the truck and trailer will be sold).
I'll start looking for a different truck. Hopefully I can find something in the $15k range that will work. Suggestions welcome.
Thanks again for the assistance.
Well even a 2005, with have a weight listing on the trailer. During that time usually a tag located in the kitchen, inside a cabinet near the sink.
There should be a sticker somewhere on the DRV telling its weights. I have two stickers on mine, one on the driver's side by propane door and a small one in the frame of the entrance door.

I would trade up to a dually for sure, and 2011 or later model if you can afford it.

Best of luck and ignore those who don't want to help but would rather harass you for their kicks and giggles.

Also if you haven't operated the ZF6 6 speed manual tranny in a truck you better drive it first as the tranny isn't like a manual in a car.
I have the NV5600 6 speed manual in my '03 2500 Dodge/Cummins. I find the 6 speed manual behind the low rpm Cummins shifts smoother than any of the '60s/'70s muscle cars I've owned. Drive it first.

Ready to camp probably around 13.5-14k. Probably a little much for a 250 series.
