2007 HitcHiker II 29.5 LKTG LS

Looking at a 07 HH 29.5 LKTG at a local dealership in Robertsdale, AL and would appreciate hearing from owners or previous owners on positive and negative feedback of this model. Thank you for responding..:)
  • OP asked about hitch flex and wood rot. I have had no such problems.
  • check out the nuwaowners.org website for input from HH II owners. Tops for learning about the HH II units.

We have a 2008 Hitchhiker LKTG 29.5, purchased new in 2009. We average about 8,000 miles a year with it, and It has proved to be highly dependable. We are planning a second Alaska trip for next year.

As to the floor plan, I have yet to find another fiver that makes better use of space. Although physically only 31 feet (not counting the hitch) in length, it has as much storage as longer units. For example, having an L-shaped kitchen creates extra overhead cabinets. I also like having toliet and shower in separate rooms.

I have created even more storage by adding shelves to several cabinets where there was more vertical space than I needed. I did not like the reading lights over the bed, so I installed my own reading lights from Home Depot.

Thanks RoyF for taking the time to read and respond. Curious if you have had any problems with hitch flex or wood rot with your HH.. I have read on other forums this is a common problem with HH's.
  • While never owning one....we’ve studied rv’s for nearly thirty (30) years. The Hitchhikers were always well respected!
