2009 Artic Fox - Help Please

Looking at 2009 model 29-5e Silver Fox edition. Question - Nada only list 29-1e model number. Anybody know if the 5e is the Silver Fox edition (not mentioned on NADA). Also is there any other way to get at least a guide to value as this unit is about a 4 hour drive.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  • Bob and Mary....

Please go to this link... need to pay to get full access
to the gurus. Worthwhile visit before purchase.

I will be happy to answer any p.m.'s you might have ... my
overall take... positives outweigh the minor negatives. Quality
bones, nice cosmetics, heavier then some (with same features).
We took our time, searched long and hard, bottom line... the floor
plan (Wife) trumped the Bones (Me). I personally think they under-axle
and under tire the rigs...but that is the industry standard...
and is just one (or two variables) in your search. They have "rationales"
for all their decisions ...you have to decide the rank order of importance.
Easy to get numbers mesmerization when calculating GVWR's, GCWR's,
Pin Wts., dry/wet weights, Axle wt's, Tire ratings, and tow vehicle ratings.....
defer to the experts... then live with your decision. Expect compromises
    in wants/needs.

There are some u-tube vids that show the construction process that
    may be worth a look.

In addition to model variations, there are line variations...

I have the Silver Fox Edition "4 Season" might want to
    verify your models "extras".

Make sure your bride is happy with the unit.

    Good luck.

LATE EDIT: oops ! I see by your signature block you already
understand the game... apologies. Interesting... I had a McKenzie
Monaco Medallion TT (think HR Pres.) at about the same size as your
HR. Used a Hensley hitch.... the 5ver has a much better footprint and
    tows easier.

  • The Silver Fox is the aluminum framing. It was started in 2007 (I have a 2007 Model 29-5T) and since 2007 all 29-5X series are Silver Fox. There has not been a 29-1E model number. It is a misprint.
  • All AF 5th wheels are designated XX-5X, the -1E listing must be a misprint, and, yes the Silver Fox Edition is all aluminum framed as opposed to wood. You might ask on the forum if there's someone living near where it's located who could take a look for you for a few $$ for expenses. Northwood makes very solid RVs, if it's properly maintained it should be good.
