- Kevin_ToddExplorerExplain a little to me about the cable slide mechanism. I noticed there is one on the front living room slide that is a little loose with the slide out. Is this an adjustment or a problem?
Have heard they are easy to repair... - Kevin_ToddExplorerI finally got a chance to talk with one of the guys that has an annual site at our campground. He bought a Journeyer TT(I think that's the model) in '09. Everything still looks really good, got to hang out with them a bit Friday. The only concern he had was this year there were some bubbles starting to show up on the roof.

Biggest concern is you read a lot of issues with delaminating and ceilings not bonded correctly. Again, this is internet talk and just wondering from owners what if any issues they have seen
We have only had our OR for 1-1/2 years but have had no problems. We have also been to an OR owner's rally and did not hear about these issues. The biggest issue I have heard about is with slides malfunctioning. We have not had any slide problems but they are a fairly simple design and easy to work on yourself if you do have problems. I did have problems with my slide on an older (2007) Rockwood hybrid trailer but was able to fix them myself. I think slide problems can happen to any unit. We have been very happy with our OR. - Kevin_ToddExplorerBiggest concern is you read a lot of issues with delaminating and ceilings not bonded correctly. - Gypsy_Soul1ExplorerWe fell in love with them two years ago but was pricey for just camping during the summer months but now we are planning on full timing and are revisiting them.
- 3_dog_nightsExplorerHave owned 7 various TT's in previous years. Finally moved up to a 5'ver. After looking at many, many, many brands and floorplans we settled on an Open Range. We love it!
- PenManExplorerI have the 2013 unit in my signature. It's been pretty much trouble free. Had a bad propane regulator from the factory that they replaced quickly. There were more problems with units built a few years ago but they seem to have corrected them. They do put China bombs on them so I have already replaced mine (about 2 years old) with new Maxxis tires. The floor plans are great in my opinion. I'm a big guy (almost 400 lbs.) and the bathroom has plenty of room for me to do my business including taking a shower. The queen size bed is really a queen size bed (60"x80") and not the short version. They are a little pricey but I think you get good value for your money. They do have a two year warranty too. My family has had everything from truck campers, hybrid trailers, Class A and Class C rigs and I like our current Open Range the best of all. I might have gone for an Open Range fifth wheel but did not want the extra steps.
- LantleyNomadCheck out the Open Range Owners forum. I have a 2012 unit and have been very satisfied with it.
Open Range - Dandy_DanExplorerWe have had our Open Range since May 2008 and like it. We did have some problems since it was one of the first trailers built but were treated excellent when we took it to the factory. They fixed everything in a shift. They have cable slides which are great making the slide assemblies lighter in weight. Don't know where you are located but OR is built in Shipshewana Indiana. They have been merged in with Jayco. Units are still called Open Range and the CEO is the same. I would not be afraid to be another one. Good Luck and Happy browsing.
