- NorskemanExplorerWe have a 2012 Cruiser Patriot fifth wheel, CF335SS. We purchased that model because of the length and layout we liked. I looked at every manufacturer and the CF335SS is the only one that had the length and layout we liked.
We looked at the CF345RF and the CF335SS and chose the CF335SS because the layout suited our needs/wants.
There were other brands that had a similar lay our but most were 38 to 40 feet long and pushing the GVWR of our truck.
Anything over 34 feet and we have a hard time getting into some of the state parks we like to go to.
Had significant issues with the bed side - slide was rebuilt and support re-designed - works good now. I believe the new design has been carried forward to the 2013 and 2014 model years.
Looks like you have "plenty of truck" to pull any of the Patriot Editions.
My last CAT scale weight:
Steer Axle - 4900 lbs
Drive Axle - 6060 lbs
Trailer Axle - 9220 lbs
Gross Weight - 20,180 lbs
2 passengers in the truck, full tank of diesel (36 gallons) and 1 small dog. Trailer is packed for 2 weeks of camping and about 1/3 tank of water (Both propane tanks full, dual 12V batteries and 3 slide awnings).
Modifications I have made to the RV:
Progressive Industries Model EMS-HW50C surge protector.
Kurt 13703 adjustable RV hitch
Wet bolt kit
Additional vent fan for refrigerator (rear upper vent area)
2nd battery with dual battery box
TV in bedroom
“Black wall” covering mod kitchen and bedroom
Clothes line mount on rear bumper
Storage compartment wall mod (now two parts for easy access to convertor, hot water heater, furnace, surge protector)
Adjustable thermostat on the Atwood HW heater - UppercrustExplorerWe have a 2012 Cruiser Patriot with the rear fireplace and really enjoy it. So far just minor issues that has been resolved.
