Hello Everyone,I have a 2013 Ram 2500 pickup. Called the dealer yesterday and was told they can NOT upgrade my mirrors to tow mirrors because they were not ordered that way from the factory. I find this hard to believe, or even stomach.So, After some research, everything says if your truck does not have it, the new mirrors will not work. Has anyone else ran in to this? Any suggestions? I would check in on some of the many Dodge/Cummins diesel websites. Just about any thing you need to know or do to your Ram some one has already done it. Your problem may have to do with wiring for the heated mirrors/etc. Check them out if some one here can't help you.

Check 1aauto.com I bought tow mirrors for my 2014 ram 2500 from there.

Don't know about the 2013 RAM 2500, but they are interchangeable on my 2012 RAM 2500. I ordered it with a Cummins and couldn't believe that a diesel 2500 didn't come with tow mirrors.

Before we throw 2 dealers under the bus, maybe take a look at what an A/M mirror vendor has to say about the subject:

Their application notes say the same thing as the dealers.

Question is, will they just plain not work at, or will some functions not work? And which functions can you live without?

My son put the aftermarket set on my 04 RAM 2500. Exact fit. Defrost and mirror aiming work fine. I DO have to tip them out (and back in) by hand, but that is no big deal. (The factory towing mirrors on my 06 Silverado have to be extended or retracted by hand.)

I have said for years that any Ram stealership that orders a Ram with a Cummins without the tow mirrors should be de-franchised immediately! Or the factory should make tow mirrors on 2500-5500 standard and not an option.

Hello everyone,

To some points: I agree 110% that a manufacturer would not sell the same vehicle with different preps. The problem as it has been explained to me is programming. How a mirror and programming correlate are beyond me. I am a locksmith by trade. I understand that the people who design this stuff are not sensible.

As far as the after market goes, I have found some options. Just trying to figure out the "best" option.

As far as dealers go, I have two options within 30 miles. Both said the same. Hard to believe.

I have had someone from this group reach out and offer some mirrors from a truck that will work. If I can make the deal happen, I will.

Thank you to everyone for the input. Of all the things I have gotten in to this really boggles me.

There is a thread over on cumminsforum.com that describes how to do it. You need the mirrors and either new body modules or a reprogram to make it work. I only glanced at it awhile ago. I ordered mine with tow package.

Find a new dealer. You can buy them online and install yourself. Think of the logic behind the dealers statement... is Dodge really going to have different doors and different mirror bolt patterns?

I don't know why dealers come up with this stuff.
He wrong of course. They are available on fleabay or the aftermarket has some nice ones too.
