My situation is similar - I couldn't find one that had a factory prep either. I elected to install the standard rails and a new Curt 20K although I could have used my old hitch. I don't want the gooseneck hidden hitch, and my new truck is a long bed so I decided to go with a new "fixed position" hitch.
Your plan to use your existing hitch will work if your super slide use the standard rails - just install your old rails using the custom bracket kit that Curt sells and transfer the old hitch. I couldn't find any other manufacturer that has a "custom kit" for the Ram 3500 yet, although several were "working on it". I checked with Pullrite, Reese, Husky and others. I don't want to use a "universal" kit and have to drill holes in my frame. The Curt is a "no drill" bracket kit. Etrailer.com has the kit for $140.
Save your $2K and use your old hitch until you're ready to upgrade if you don't mind the rails in the bed of the truck. The rails don't bother me - I pull the hitch out and use them for tie-down points!
