2013 Redwood

Just was reading article in trailer life mag. Have a Redwood so say high end unit 114,000 dollar 5th that has st235/80r15 tires. Man, what a way to cheat cousmer on axles. Anything that large and costly should have 7,000 pld axles. They should be 16in with 8lugs. I think it has the 5,000 pld axles with 6 lugs. No unit should have that size axles with that weight. Any input?:S

  • Shop carefully. Prices are VERY over inflated. You can buy them for the high $60's- mid $70's. Check Lazy Days. Don't pay Redwoods "high end" price for something that does not rival the real quality of DRV or Excel. Just my 2 cents. Good luck. Phillip
  • Saw a brand spanking new Redwood 5er last week being pulled by a new one ton Chevy that still had the paper plates on it. That guy must have won the lotto.:)

Unless it is a bill then LESS is better.

  • A lot of inaccuracies in that article, such as you need to delete the fireplace to get a desk. We have the 8K axles with disk brakes and G614 tires.
  • Ya that sounds right, sure would be ludicrous to put that size axles on that size rig. Thanks for comment.
  • Well the article is wrong. Redwoods come with 9/16th 8 lug 7K axles with an option for 8K, but the OEM tires are the E rated Marathons, with G614s as an option.
