Purchased a brand new 2014 redwood 38 GK, the day i got it home opened slides and ripped the trim on the wall right off, the air conditioner didn't have a drain line leaked water thru roof electrical shorts whole house vacuum broken t.v. were falling off brackets. and there's more this has been the worst nightmare in my life. it took two months for them to fix. got it back and it opened up another can of problems, slide out is tearing carpeting up window in bedroom is broke the furnace discharge blows the heat out onto storage door melted it they have agreed to fix everything but can't get parts to repair facility. it's been there two months again the repair facility sent a truck for parts today to the factory only to find out there was none. they also promised to make my payments for the first repair which took two months and they RENEGED on their promise. WORD TO THE WISE STAY AWAY THEY LOOK BEAUTIFUL BUT IT'S ONLY SKIN DEEP. I am not new to the rv industry this is my 4th unit.BUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with all of the posts above....and will add...My SIL sells Montana's, Landmark's and Redwood's. They move about 1 a week of each. She has told me hands down, the Redwood is the one with the most problems when they get them. Sounds to me like they aren't paying attention to detail at the factory...then again there aren't to many that do!

I met a guy in Florida with nothing good to say about his redwood, the original OP obviously was not only looking to vent but to give other's a heads-up and save somebody else some grief, I say thanks and I hope you get your troubles sorted out to your satisfaction, let's remember people there not GIVING these rigs away!!Red Green: If life gives you lemons, throw 'em into a quart of vodka.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with your new fifth wheel. I hope everything gets fixed properly for you. When repairs are this extensive that trailer should be sent back to the factory and replaced. No if's, and's, or but's!

Something needs to be done in this industry regarding the shoddy work that comes out of these factories.

Well I can sympathize with the OP. I had a 2012 Fuzion FZ3544 that I bought in 2013. What was found during the PDI was corrected but there were even more problems, 32 including bubbles in the fiberglass of all four outside slide walls, when I took it back to the dealer. lots2seeinmyrv mentioned that the factory should take it back...Keystone said no way. As far as the bubbles they wanted the dealer to take it to a local auto body shop and have the bad sections fixed. Keystone refused a buyback; Keystone refused a cash settlement. Fortunately my dealer stepped up to the plate and gave me over 97% of my original purchase price for a trade in allowance. I am now patiently waiting on my new Open Range unit and the Fuzion is setting on the dealers lot. Morale of the story is that Redwood is not the only manufacturer that turns out a lemon every now and then. YMMV

Sorry you had problems with your coach. Hope they fix you up so you can enjoy your RV. We have had very few minor problems and really like our Redwood. The dealer could have helped with some of these problems prior to delivery. Most Redwood owners have had good luck with their coaches and are happy with them. The RV industry as a whole has a lot of room for quality improvement.

from the Redwood trailers I have looked at, I was not impressed. Lots of pretty glitz, poorly finished. For the money, you can buy better, other than Thor, in my opinion.

Ditto! The guy who started Redwood came from Carriage after running them in the ground. He started-up Redwood, another I-beam framed fiver with a lot of glitz. Looks good but really built no different from most others. He then took the Crossroads lines, particularly Cruiser, and shortened their warranty and quality suffered.
Its a shame that some people have paid $100k or more for these units when in actually they can be purchased for the mid $60's. No way are they worth $100k!
Like a previous poster said, all brands turn out a lemon but some brands are definitely built better than others and offer better customer service than others. Shop carefully for price and service. Phillip
