2014 Big Horn Silverado still in shop

I have a Big Horn 2014 that has a major 12 v short, The unit is with the dealer, they have it for going on 10 days and they cannot find the open short going thru the unit. They have even contacted Heartland and they cannot find the solution. I am just *****ing. Sorry
I was to use it for the New Year for 2 weeks with a group of fellow RVers. Do not know what to do.

Time for it to go back to the factory. The dealers workers will do more damage removing trim and parts than anything. if its supposed to be a new unit, insist on a NEW unit, not one that has been torn apart and reassembled.

A Brand new 2014 model with those issues, they need to replace with another ASAP if you ask me. I would demand it.

A good tech with an Ohm meter should be able to trace it down.
  • I would think you need to take it to someone that knows what they are doing. 90% down means what? There are fuses for each circuit, a couple of circuit breakers that may have a reset button on them.
  • sounds like someone put a screw through a wire some where in the TT walls
  • they are saying now the unit now is 90% down. it started with the awning with a short keep blowing the fuss. now the lites don't work refrig does not work ect.
  • The solution is open it up.

When you say major 12v short, is it one 12v circuit, or is everything 12v dead?
  • Contact Heartland directly...do not take the dealers word that they have...
