2014 used grand designs momentum 355TH-- opinions please

Ok. DH and I just talked about it and our Puma is now officially for sale. :) we are going to try and sell it outright at a small loss and go fresh into a new TH in the next month or two...

And, yes, this is why we are looking again (started looking months ago)-- bought too small. In the last 1.5 years, our teens exploded in size and now I have two grown men and one grown woman aside from DH and myself and this last weekend we had rain and were all in the RV and that is what killed the puma. I can't do it any more. It was fine until this last month. Now we desperately need a new RV before the next time we go camping (which isn't planned yet).

I don't want to do this again, which is good chunk of why I like the momentum.... Seems to me it would last us a LONG time!

DH isn't budging, so if it catches anyone else's eye, have at it.

I go with the Grand Design hands down over the cookie cutter toy haulers, Rapters and such are everywhere for sale used. I think the same 355 is on Ebay also. I'm considering the 385 as it has the 1/2 bath in the garage. Unless you have an older dually...5-8 yrs or older I wouldn't worry about towing it.

Negotiate. Even used RV's can be negotiated down. Maybe not the full $8000 diff, but enough to make it worth your while.

Don't be scared of the 40'. It will go anywhere that a 37' will go and the difference in handling is negligible. The Momentum is a very well build unit. You didn't mention how old it is, but with a little bit of searching, the 355 can be bought fully optioned for just a few thousand more. My only concern would be that it has next to no warranty left, has not been used enough to work out the bugs (if any) and you would be paying what is basically the price of a brand new one.

As a late model Fuzion owner, I will tell you that I wish the Momentum had been on the market when I bought mine almost 2 years ago. Yes the price is significantly higher than Fuzion and Raptors, but in my opinion the quality of the build, quality of products used and perks you can't get in the Fuzion or Raptor line make it worth the price. My advice would be don't make the classic toy hauler mistake by buying what you think you can afford then wanting something better in a year or two and end up taking a big hit on the upgrade. It is cheaper to go big the first time!

Texas to Louisiana can be a 20 minute drive or a 10 hour drive. For the right price, I wouldn't think twice about driving 8-10 hours to get the trailer I want. I actually did drive 8 hours to get our Fuzion and still saved over $4,000 after all costs were considered. It was also a trip that my son and I will never forget.

Thanks, yes, seems everyone loves their momentum TH. I worry the deal is too good to be true--- seems very good price.

I'm burning with desire for this one, but the hubby is 75% not going for it and standing firm.

We also didn't want to go above 37 feet in length (our dually has 8 foot bed) and this one is 40 feet long, so that is definitely an issue.

Just wondering if anyone had an opinion on if this is as good a deal as I think it is...

They seem to have a very strong following not only for the TH but their other lines. Hit the search button and you can read some of the comments. I always suggest looking historically at comments. Sure all the flash and glamor get you to buy it, but its how the RV has handled after a year and how warranty issues were dealt with that will make or break you.
