I think when it comes to the height of the trucks, engineers have taken a back seat to the marketing department. Those big tall trucks just seem to scream "MANLY", "MACHO", "STUDLY" to some buyers and that seems to be the main point. Personally I think they're stupid, but I'm not in the market.
