I get those letters all the time. I don't even own the truck they are trying to "buy" anymore. Haven't for years. It's a scam to get you into the dealership to try and trade you out of it. I wouldn't get too excited.

Yea, I've gotten those same letters on vehicles that were traded into them years before... They are fishing

It is a great tool when looking for new or used Rams!

I know the dealership is fishing, but it also means they are wanting to sell to get their numbers up, which is the best time to get the best deal. The way dealerships get paid now is by reaching their next level, so it would behoove them to sell to get to that next number, the closer they are the more likely they are to deal. It all depends on where a specific dealer is on their numbers.

I needed a service anyway, so they set one up for me, and they will attempt to sell me a vehicle. If their numbers aren't good. I still have a great truck that I got a good deal on so I am a happy camper either way.

Well you asked your question on a site with a big Dodge fan club (I don't care if marketing wants me to call them something different). So you'll get a load of bull. Especially the comments about "true medium duty".

I've always been a Ford guy, but I like the Cummins too. My next truck could easily be a Dodge. Just so you know that I'm not closed minded. I don't like the excessive complexity of the Ford 6.7, nor the jam crammed engine bay, so I am open to a change.

In your case, I think you should run your Ford out closer to end of the engine warranty. They are baiting you with that old song about "we have customers asking for your trade-in". Unless there is a good reason for needing to get out of that truck, or into a dually, there is no chance the deal on a Dodge will be so sweet that it would make financial sense to trade. The deals will be just as good in about 2 years from now.

Opinion it’s “BULL” but FACT is the 6.7 is sold for other Medium Duty applications

Funny coincidence. My Ford dealer has a sales team member who lives in the service lobby and chats you up whenever you're there. Yesterday she called me with wanting to see if I'd be interested in a trade.

I told her I ran one of the online estimation tools a couple weeks ago and the number scared me into owning my truck for another couple of years. Invited her to surprise me. Nope, came in right where I expected.

Update: Had my meeting today, got my vehicle serviced, drove the 2019 F350 dually, then ran numbers with them. We were $12,500 apart between my trade, and the new truck...hahahaha....basically after dissecting their numbers (they always given them to you strangely to get you flummoxed. Being an accountant helps!) they came down on MSRP only to 91% value, and wanted to give me $6500 less than I wanted on my trade-in. Interesting to be in the dance again, and see how dealers are doing things now. The 2019 F350 dually is nice, the steering is much tighter, and the suspension is much nicer!! They do make nice trucks. I saw the 2018 Longhorn 3500 dually, but it was blocked by other vehicles so couldn't drive it. They were clearly steering me away from the RAM, and towards the Ford, even denigrating RAM's in the process. Made we wonder about margins for the sale of each. Thanks to all for the info on RAM's. I did see a 2500 with the RAM boxes, which I think are brilliant, but was told they don't make those for the 3500's, not sure if that's true, or if they just don't order them that way.
