2nd AC

I just did the foil tape work a few days ago. I agree that everyone should check theirs (within the AC return and supply ceiling area)...mine needed all new tape. I am hoping this helps with the cooling of the camper.

However, I am still debating on adding a second AC unit, as mine is wired for it, and ducted. For those that have purchased and installed their own...where are you buying, what model did you go with, and did you go with the low profile?
My current one is a Dometic (no idea if its a 13.5 or 15k).

MY three cents: Before you purchase another unit, save a few $$$'s and do some duct work checking. Start out at the main unit that is tied into the duct work. you can do a search on this as well. At the main unit, sometimes the return air is circulating within the main area behind the filter. make sure it is sealed so the air is forced into the ducting. Use a good duct tape from your local hardware or home improvement place. Then once that is completed, remove the vent covers at all the places throughout the coach. you can use an electric fish tape with a small rag on it and some patience, and clean the duct work out. sometimes there is small pieces of foam, tape etc inside restricting the air flow into the other areas. Check the air flow volume once you get r all cleaned and sealed. You may be good to go. Our unit had a badly sealed return area as well as some tape that made it part way down the ducting. WE have perfect air flow into the bedroom and the whole coach with only the one unit. As far as cooling, we are able to keep our entire coach at about 85* on a 115* day. Of course we do use bubble aluminum stuff in the big windows to help insulate. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

The Atwood Air Commander that I purchased to replace my old DUCTED Carrier Mark V has the ability by use of a slide on the return air grill to block off the ducts to the back. This allows me to cool down the living area quickly. I then open the slide to allow cool air to flow in the back bedroom

50 amp. Unit is a 2013. It would seem that if both AC's are connected to the ducting it would be a more balanced system.

Yes.

Depends on year of Creek. If an older unit, 2nd A/C probly will "dump" right into BR only. Newer unit perhaps will be tied into existing duct work.

Both of my 15K AC's are ducted... and the year after my purchase, they added an option for a 3rd ducted 15KAC . .

The single ducted unit wil provide cooling to the entire RV but if it's very hot, it may not be strong enough to do the job. This is when a second unit is added.
The second unit usually doesn't use the duct work - it blows directly into the cabin.

My 2nd unit is ducted as well. It really varies by unit. Some are pre wired and pre ducted for 2nd unit some are not.
