If your fiver is a 50A unit (ie 4 prongs on the plug) you could get an electrician to replace the dryer outlet with 50A range one, with appropriate wiring and breaker changes.
That way you would be better positioned to survive in AZ.
The dryer outlet as is does not have a neutral, which is essential to supply the double 110V/50A supply.
