4 motorcycles 1 rv

So we are looking at getting out first toy hauler. Wanting something that could fit at least 2 street bikes (crotch rockets) and 2 dirt bikes. Wanting it to be a separate garage or kinda like a cy3418 maybe. Possible wanting a side patio as we have dogs? Pretty new any advice would be helpful really. We want to be in this thing full time.
  • im not the weight police but will tell you I first towed my smaller carbon with a 2011 f250 that was bagged and will never do that again! it had plenty of power but I now know how much better a dually is with a large 5th wheel.

before you buy I would look at the door tag on your truck to see what that cargo capacity is, my 250 was only 1960lbs.
  • Our truck is a 05 2500 cummins single tire. I have a friend with a 44ft carbon that tows his with a 2500 duramax so I assumed we would be ok truck wise.

I'd say you've never owned a toy hauler correct?

to the OP, you'll need a very large trailer (40') to get 4 bikes in the garage and be comfortable full timing. fitting in 4 dirt bikes shouldn't be hard but make two of those sport bikes with fairings, lights, etc. and you won't get 4 across, probably the two sport bikes straight in, the dirtbikes sideways in front or behind. 10' garage minimum I'd say.

You'll need a big truck to pull it too
  • BTW, I could fit 2 sport bikes and 2 dirt bikes in my 12' garage assuming you are referring to normal size dirtbikes and not 2 bmw 1200 GS's.
  • ive never had an issue with gas smell in my rv, I close the door going into the garage and it is a separate area.

You have a diesel, but is it enough truck to tow larger 5th wheels?
  • For what we wanna do the toyhauler is the only way don't wanna be lugging around a 35 ft rv on top of a 16 ft trailer. Plus we already have a cummins to tow with.As to the carbon 387. We wouldnt wanna tow it with a single tire truck? As that's what we have now.

    WHY NOT??
  • there a few to choose from with separate living areas, but you will be looking at a larger 5th wheel that most likely will require a dually truck to tow.

    keystone carbon 387 has a 17' garage

  • Full timing with bikes and dogs, buy as large as you can.

I can fit 3 full size dirt bikes and two 50cc minis in my small 23' TH but no way in heck I'd want to full time in it.
