I'm looking at those power cords and it says 30' 16/3-8/1 Cord 125-240V.I take it as 3 strands of 16 guage and 1 strand of 8 guage as that makes up the four strands.That seems awful light to me if i'm reading it right.
16g cable is not rated at 50amps. Perhaps you meant 6/3?
10g = 30a, 8g = 40a and 6g = 50a.
16g? That is close to telephone wire, certaintly not power cord!
I know it's not on topic but phone wire is 24g. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Did you make that cord yourself , or buy it complete ?

I used part of a temp power cord and I bought the Camco yellow ends. Makes for a VERY nice cord that is flexible to below freezing.
Shop around the cord is not cheap but you can easily make a 30' quality cord for less than they want for the pre made ones from CampingWorld. These ends have much heavier prongs than the pre made ones.
Been thinking of buying the cord in 100' spools and making people cords to the length they want and selling them in the Campgrounds for something to do.
THX.. Well , I for one would be a customer... I hate working with anything electric.. and don't understand a lot about electric...

Actually if you can use a utility knife, wire stripper and screwdriver that's all that's required to make up your own cord. Easy to follow directions come with the ends. Also make sure all the connections are nice and tight. - Coach-manExplorer

Joe- AllworthExplorer III just put new ends (much heavier than the yellow Camco parts, see Tweety's) on a damaged cord and I believe it is 3 @ #6 and 1 @ #8. There is certainly no #16 involved. I had to cut the damaged end off with a hacksaw.
Hot (red & black) and Neutral (white) are #6 and ground is slightly smaller.
Your cord (and your MPG) may vary. - spud1957Explorer

Not light at all! The #8 is the ground, that configuration is very typical for a 50A cord. - Cummins12V98 ,
