5er axle relocate?

Has anyone relocated the axles back for better manners going down the road?

My Sierra Sport 5er sways way too much, and I am thinking about moving the axles back. I just do not know how far to go...

Any advice?

If you 5th wheel is swaying while in tow it has nothing to do with location of axles.

Your problem sounds like truck/trailer not properly matched.
Trailer towing nose high, not enough pin weight, under-inflated tires, broken spring/hanger/bushings....

    What are your weight numbers?
Does trailer sit level when hooked up?
    What pressures in tires?
    Have you inspected suspension components?
What speed are you towing at?

    5'vrs rarely have sway issues

    My exact thoughts.

  • I think I have the same trailer it sets fairly high which is one of the reasons I bought it because it gives me enough clearance for the bed.
Does your axle set below the spring's or above? Mine sets above the axle and seems high but tows just fine with my 4x4 f250.
It has square tubeing above the hangers that may have been added? If it had flip axles it would be really high.
Dose yours set level with the truck? I think that what your looking for.
If you want any pictures let me know ?
Never. Mind I just realized that you want to move the axels further back? Wow that that would be a lot of work! (I thought you wanted to go back to stock) mine would have way to much pin weight!
  • It wouldn't be hard for a welder but it will increase the tongue weight. Also, how do you relocate the wheel well openings in the side of the trailer?
