Another related question. What advertised pin weight will roughly equate to 1900 once you load the camper? I'm not sure what math estimates are typically used but it seems there should be a number I could use to eliminate options as simply going to be too heavy.
1900# equates to a 5er with an approx. GVW of 9500#..I'd throw out "dry" or "empty" 5er and pin weight's...not realistic...It's hard to "speculate" how much your truck or 5er will weigh, loaded...it rarely work's out to try to do it that way...It would behoove you to use the 5er's GVW when trying to figure what your truck can tow.
It would help some to know what truck you have and what the GVWR, GCWR, FAWR and RAWR's are....
I'd weigh the truck, loaded just like you were going to go camping, full tank of fuel etc...add 200# for a conventional 5er hitch, though you could go much lighter with an Andersen Ultimate 5er hitch...and use drive axle weight to determine how much room you have left for pin weight compared to RAWR...I personally use trucks GVWR, but that is not popular on this forum and I've been deemed a "weight police":R..but by doing the research, I'm under all my trucks recommended towing numbers which works for me :) I'd weigh my truck BEFORE I purchased a 5er to figure out how much pin weight I can put in the bed of the truck.
