I'm going to weigh the truck sometime this week with it's typical daily load, and about all we add is her and a cooler. We have an actual camping trip in July. We'll be fully loaded and plan to get real weights then.
A question has come up. Once I disconnect TT for reweigh, do I also remove or keep WD hitch and bars? I know it counts against receiver, but does it count as actual tongue weight?
Yes, tongue weight is tongue weight whether distributed on drive axle only, or front and drive axle. How the weights are done compared to quite some time ago when I towed a TT and did the weights with trailer and truck, and then with just the truck., I'd put WDH in the back of the truck, for total GVWR.I know weight will distribute some to front axle, but putting WDH in the bed of the truck, still gives truck GVE, will add more to rear axle weight, but you can look at what drive axle weight was while hooked up and while unhooked, do the math and see the difference between drive and steer axle weights...
