We used a Pullrite Superglide on two of our MegaCabs. Never had to worry about cab clearence. Pullrite makes an adapter for the Ram puck system.
There is actually three . Pullrite, Demco, and Reese , they fit the puck system on the Rams , so you can attach a standard rail fifth hitch to them, The Pullrite Superglide IRS or any other standard bed rail hitch.
The best way to go is to eliminate the adapter all together, and go with the Pullrite OE puck base feet kit, which allows you to attach the ISR Superglide series directly to the truck puck system . About the same money as the adapter, IMO a much better way to go with the Superglide. Only drawback they only work with the Superglide 2300, which is a 24K rated hitch, by no means a bad thing ,but its plenty of hitch for whatever fifth wheel he goes with ,a bit more more money, but a great setup . With that new 80K truck, that should not be an issue :B
