We are new to 5th wheeling, having recently transitioned from a travel trailer. Ours is 30 feet and I doubt we'd want to go much longer. We find we have to be much more vigilant when choosing a site and not just take whatever is available. The site we were in this weekend was JUST long enough and had our trailer been a bit longer, we would have probably just driven on through and went back home. We are going to be a bit more limited now at some of the places we like to go.
And sometimes it's less about the length and more about the height -- depending on if there are low hanging branches and where exactly they are in the site. I'm not sure we ever really noticed before how much taller a 5th wheel is than a travel trailer. But we sure know it now!
