I actually wouldn't want to get into anything over five years old if I was buying another camper. The one that I have was six years old when I obtained it, but it was stored inside. You run into issues with expensive components sometimes -- refrigerator - furnace - AC as the unit ages. If you can fix it yourself, this can somewhat mitigate these issues. A few campgrounds try to exclude campers over ten years old. Obviously, when you buy new, you take a big hit. Many folks buy new since at the end of life, it's spend it or leave it to your kids. I'm finished saving for retirement, so I am more likely to spend now than at an earlier stage in life when I bought a fifteen year old motor home and rebuilt most of it.
