I failed to mention in a previous post. Expect the worst! If clear skies or warm weather is predicted....prepare for the opposite. If you actually get out on the two-tracks, get tire chains for the tow vehicle. Not the little v-bar designed for highway use...but, the big, heavy mud chains. If your off-road and need chains....you need “real” chains. Do not forget “traction” for the camper. If you will be on steep grades, either up/down or to the side....you need chains for the camper. If you find yourself on a steep, muddy grade.....you want the camper to stay behind you. If it decides to slide off the road side......it will likely take the tow vehicle with it. We always have tire cables ( for icy roads) in our 5er. If the aforementioned conditions are a possible encounter......just throw a couple of sets of tire chains in the pickup bed. It’s “unnecessary overkill”.....until you need them! memtb
