I am glad I have the long bed and my Curt hitch, which I saved and didn't give away with the truck I sold. Just have to purchase new Ram legs from Curt for $400 and swap them onto the hitch. No picture frame adapter needed. No cobbling something together to make a slider work.
Actually I have a friend with a Reese 16K slider hitch, he has a 2014 2500 with 5er/GN prep package, he purchased a picture frame adapter and his slider sets on it just fine. Works great and looks good...
Thats exactly what I am talking about. Having to run the PF adapter. Last thing I need to be doing is raising the hitch up another 2 inches and having an extra thing to take out when putting quads back there.. I like to keep it simple and clean and applaud Curt for making the new Ram legs able to be used with the older hitch heads.
Oh, I agree with you 100%...But I ran a picture frame adapter in my truck for over a year and a half with a Reese 20K Signature hitch on it.....really was a non issue...BUT, I went to a B&W RVK3600 also.
I usually left the adapter in, it was 75#, then I had to take the Reese apart to remove it all my self....The B&W is no light weight, but it's one less step I have to do to remove everything from the bed...I'm in agreement with you on this.
