My last truck had a DSP hitch that slides forward on rails then pins into the rails, I would release the 4 pins after taking up the weight on the front jacks and just drive out from under leaving the hitch hanging there, I even winter stored the hitch attached to the trailer but padlocked the release lever. The new truck has a B&W companion hitch so I can't do the slide thing.
