Yep, no lift...I have a 2000 F250 shortbed and I opted for the Demco Autoslide 18K and am glad I did! The Demco does not need a 'key' installed on the pin box to make the auto slide work as it has a pair of capture plates that slide up against the pin box - that allows you to tow ANY 5th wheel and still enjoy the auto slide.
Oh - the Ford prep would be nice as once the hitch is out the full bed is available, and Demco makes a hitch available for the new prep packages.
