The installation instructions for the 3300 show the hitch head supports to be installed in two positions. One is 1" in front of the axle, the other is 3" in front of the axle. I don't see any accommodation for 2" behind the axle. The hitch will only serve to reduce your cab clearance.
You are correct, won't be behind axle. It will be 1 inch in front of axle center, but not really in front of axle.
If the OP did not use his previous slider in 13 years, with his Ram, he will now have several more inches of clearance with his new Ford.

Its been like 4 years ago or around there, I talked to Andersen about the puck system. They told me it was in the works ,and was going to be on the the market that following year. Well that year came ,and went ,but never saw anything. Its apparent they scraped that idea .
I have entertained the thought of taking my frame adapter ,and adapting just the locking lugs to my steel rail mount Andersen. It would not be that difficult ,and I have the means to do it, but it wouldn't accomplish much the way I have it setup ,the frame adapter works well . Plus the extra height you mentioned for whatever reason, is not a factor for me. You have to remember at one time most hitches were sitting on bed rails .
