Good point...buyer beware. For Lippert frames ONLY; Reese has been approved and Andersen is in approval process.
Again, for the money we put in these 5er's.... Lippert makes most of all RV frames, it's a small percentage made by others....
I'd want it in writing and I'd STILL want to ask the manufacturer of MY 5er what THEY say about using any other hitch other than a 5th wheel hitch....if they say it's ok, then have at it...I would, it would be cheaper than a 5th wheel hitch, so I'm just saying, I'd make the call and get it straight from those you will have to go through to get any repairs done if under warranty. If not under warranty and you don't care, hey, do whatever you want to do.
