Sounds like B&W does the same as the Curt but with out the "Chucking" option!
To me it sounds like someone decided they would rather spend $8-900 instead of $1,200 and are trying to justify it.
How about the fact there are only two bolts on each side holding the top portion to the base of the Curt and 4 each side on the B&W.
And yet isn't it the B&W that came apart in an accident. I chose a Reese hitch couldn't be happier.
I wouldn't pay the money for a B&W IMO a lot of the hitches out there are just as good for less money Reese , and Curt being among them. My money is on the Andersen within its weight ratings, and not the opinions of others.
