5th wheel hitch
Can anyone recommend a fifth wheel hitch that is slider, with weight capacity of 26,000 lbs, and is fairly easy to switch over to gooseneck hitch? Preferably a Curtis, or Reese, or other top name bran...

B&W makes a good gooseneck and fifth wheel sliding hitch, but it's not rated 26,000 for the fifth wheel part of it.
I would have to agree that the only short bed pickup anywhere close to capable of carrying the hitch weight of a 26,000 lb fifth wheel, would be a newer Dodge Megacab dually.
26,000 x 20 percent = 5200
