Had a slider in my last, short-bed truck and never used it.
I had an extended cab, short bed Chevy pick up (01'), and hit the left top side of my cab and put a dent in it making a sharp curve....

Do I really need a slider hitch for my ram 2500HD diesel 4x4 short bed pulling a 15k max loaded trailer. this new 5th wheel has the new front end of the trailer 80% turn ratio's.

With the newer pinboxes slider hitches are not needed unless you plan on doing alot of tight turns.you can go with a patriot for less than half the price .
you can get one from the chrome shop or tweetys
There are still short pinboxes on 5er's...I see just as many with short pin boxes on dealers lot's as I do seeing 5er's with extended pin boxes.
....I was making a left turn when I hit the top of my cab with the 5er......
