Actually, I don't see how weight or length would catch anyone off guard, (ie, Buyer Beware),....most that purchase have physically seen their unit before they buy it...they "see" how long it is, and there should be placards somewhere in unit showing weights.....
This post was more about, as other post similar to this one ask, "What's the numbers mean?".
Dimensions are published, for inside and outside lengths. Weights should be listed in the unit, empty and GVWR ...and again, most have walked through, looked at and "see" how long and should know GVWR of the unit before purchasing....this thread was just trying to figure out why numbers sometimes do or don't mean a particular thing.
