Most won't be carrying a tape measure with them and most won't weigh their unit...and a lot of that can be attested to by having read this forum for years and years.
Suit yourself - I still say get a tape measure and measure your rig and then hit the CAT scales and weight it. GVWR means nothing if you have no idea what your actual weight is, and this is NOT the time to be confident with the brochure height of 12' 8" when your rig is actually 13' 3"! If I used your approach, I would be 1 air conditioner short and about $3,000 less rich.
