5th Wheel lock to the truck

Was pondering what to do to keep my actual 5th wheel hitch/head assembly secure in my truck. Though about running a chain from my bed rails to the head assembly, and using padlocks on both ends. Anybody else have any ideas?
Thanks

    I've never had one stolen

A friend lost two before he started locking it down.

All depends on where you park

    Exactly my thoughts.
  • When was the last time you heard of a hitch head being stolen? :h
  • I use a heavy gauge cable bike lock that uses a key to unlock it. I can route it through my hitch head and then through my bed rails on my hitch. keeps it all locked in safely unless some wants it that bad.

    Bell Bike Lock
  • Is a hitch of that size and weight really a target? Would think someone would break into cab and steal truck before they would just take hitch.
  • I am sure you could find locking type pins to replace the pins that you have now
  • That should do it. Just make sure that the chains or locks do not prevent movement of the moving parts.
