I've had both on an RV and the my 5er didn't like the GN adaptor, one bit. The only reason I tried the GN adaptor was for our off road camping, at that time, and I had a single pivot 5er hitch that bound up a lot. I built my RV bed for 5er hitch and GN ball so I tried the GN adaptor, thinking it would be the best for all-round use but hard hiway pulling did a job on the bedroom area wall... alum siding coming off and staples coming out of the inside paneling. I won't risk a GN adaptor again.
30 years later, I had a 5er RV and a big GN cargo trailer at the same time and I put a kingpin post on the cargo trailer and I loved it. A fifth wheel hitch is easier anyway. Craig
