5th wheel recommendations

We also have a Winnebago Lite Five 26FWRKS - and LOVE it. We tow with a 2005 F250 Diesel superduty with a short bed and it handles it quite nicely. I don't think we need any more truck for this camper. My only complaints about the camper are: Light switches are in strange places, there is nowhere to put a vaccum - unless you buy the little dyson which cost more than my house vaccuum, and the water hookup outside is really poorly designed. very difficult to get the hose hooked up. Other than those Minor things it is a great - and very comfortable- camper!

I would suggest that you put your requirements into something like http://www.rvtrader.com/ to see what is available with your basic requirements,for length, slides and price and year. You may have a just a few or maybe hundreds to look at. The best thing is that you can look at exteriors and interiors without any traveling. Once you narrow it down, then go to the manufacturers website to get more detailed info.

I've got the 2014 Cougar 28 SGS, and pull it w/a Chevy Silverado 2500HD, curt hitch. No problems. I like the two slides, rear windows, and windows everywhere! I use mine to live in full-time so roomy was 1st thought. I can see out these windows where in other makes/models were to small. 2 adults and 1 over weight dog w/short legs. You won't be sorry, it's a great rig.

Podie: Great to hear your getting a 5er. Like several have posted here, you do not want too much trailer for your truck. A 12.000# trailer will have a little over a ton of pin weight. You need to look a the tire max ratings and the rear axle limits in addition to max gross combination weight. For your 3/4 ton truck you will want to keep the trailer weight down below those numbers no matter what the dealer or other posters tell you. It will pull it and maybe won't blow your tires out but the brakes may not be enough to stop you in the distance needed. Just my 2 cents. Dave & Jenney You can never have too much truck---> :)

The OP asks a simple question, looking for 30-32' 5th wheel recommendations.

He has an adequate truck for almost every 30-32' 5th wheel on the market.

He does not need a 1 ton.

My 2014 prime time crusader 295rst touring edition meets all those needs and is very f250 friendly
With a 1250lb pin and 8950 dry weight. We really enjoy it. 31ft 11 in.

Just bought a 2014 Winnebago Lite Five 26FWRKS, 2 slides 30 foot. Paid $31000 including PDI and Destination. 7900lbs dry, 10,500 GVWR. Really well built and very nice!
