Somehow you've come to the conclusion that this guy died because he was using a SRW pickup to tow a 3 axle tow hauler, with no knowledge of actual weights or capabilities of the tow vehicle and trailer. The reality appears to be that he died because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the truck. Had be not been ejected he would have likely only had minor injuries. I've seen it hundreds of times in my career. As far as TPMS, who knows? If the tire failed due to chronic underinflation, than yes, TPMS would make a difference. If it failed due to tread separation, overloading or road debris, than no.
