Hmm, so many adapters and so much Physics!
Umm, what about "strength of materials"?
Or if the supposed lever arm is not movable and is not a lever?
Obviously the forces present very seldom exceed the strength of Fiver frames or adapter equipped RV frame failures would be common.
That said, my Reese Goosebox adapter equipped RV frame was broken 2 years ago by a I- 10 TX size pothole in West TX that disabled my truck transmission, bounced us up to the Truck ceiling, shut down the CD player and tossed an 8 lb Kitchenaid Mixer laying in the Kitchen Sink onto the RV Floor. About 1000 miles of towing later, the resulting crack in the front frame Pinbox cross beam grew/failed enough to drop the trailer onto my frame. And distorted the Goosebox.
Repair was expensive, but now my front frame is much stronger thanks to the mobile welder and better/thicker steel with better welds. Experienced consensus was no kind of hitch would have necessarily protected the RV from that "collision".
Towing successfully once again with the Star Performance Kingpin (Gooseneck) Adapter with a new 20K Pinbox Wingset on my 14K lbs Montana.
PS, Reese would not provide a new Goosebox under warranty as their device did not itself failed. But failed to protect my RV as "promised"....more evidence of what kind of shock / collision it must take to break steel.
