Sorry, this comparison is extremely ridiculous. The 5 wheel Rv gets much less stress then the gooseneck. First off the gooseneck is designed for maximum load in soft off road conditions. 2nd, the goose neck is made to get large round bales loaded up front first then loaded on toward the back or a heavy piece of equipment loaded from the rear... possibly heavy enough to raise or nearly raise the back of the truck off the ground.
An Rv never sees this type of stress. Maximum load shift my 5th wheel sees is my wife and I walking from the back to the front or front to back or approx 300 lb shift, not tons. I don't pull mine thru soft fields or thru washouts either as the gooseneck was designed to do.
Comparing a picture of a gooseneck and 5th wheel is as ridiculous as comparing a pickup to a class 8 tractor. Totally different applications.
