Not really in the case when one bolts a gooseneck adapter onto the 5th wheel frame. The comparison was intended to illustrate the differences in how forces are transferred from the tow vehicle coupling to the frame areas of the trailer.

Also, please explain why those with factory 5th wheels have so many frames break and so few with gooseneck adaptors. There is more to it then just the 'leverage' but 'highly educated' engineers don't seem to be able to comprehend. Real life facts sometimes can be a *itch... not learned in college and sometimes contrary to what is taught in college. I possibly stressed my new 5th wheel the other day every bit as much getting in and out of my campsite as I stressed my old 5th wheel/gooseneck adaptor in 14 years of towing.
