You didn't say what the carrying capacity of the truck is after you subtract passengers, luggage, hitch weight ect. Are you overloaded?

I am few hundred pounds over the 10,000 GVW when ready to travel but under axel weights and tire specs

We attended a seminar where an RV suspension engineer said that trailer chugging is due primarily to trailer and axle misalignment.. We have a MorRyde pin box which for us, we have none of the chugging motion the MorRyde is designed to eliminate. We also had the axle alignment checked; was told we were good. I know there are other pin boxes purported to help, but the axle alignment statement was interesting.

I feel the weight of trailer lunging and pulling the truck pretty bad.You only need 80 psi in the tires if you are running max tire load (which I suspect is 3415# per tire.In which case I think you could run 60psi in the front and 65psi in the rear. But you should check for your specific tire size against one of the tire companies load/inflation tables.Here is one for Bridgestone/Firestone.That would make a HUGE difference to the ride harshness.FWIW my tires are rated for a max load of 3042# each. I run 45psi front and 70psi rear.

Try tweeking your brake controller. Sounds like the trailer brakes are coming on to light and it is pushing the truck OR If you are hearing a banging when you apply the brakes then the trailer brakes are to heavy and the truck is being jerked back by the trailer. It sound like you are at the limit of your trucks capability, although I pull a 10,000lb 5et with my 2008 Duramax crew cab with no problems and a ride so smooth my wife enjoys driving it too.I cannot see any reason to air down the tires with that load on the back.

Another question for the experts here. Lets assume I need as much sag in my truck to level the trailer but I want to try airbags to improve the ride. It seems that I would NOT be able to add enough air to improve the ride without raising the rear. Does anybody have experiance with this same scenario?

I run 80 psi in the rears of the TV and 80 on the fifth wheel that weighs around 10K. No problem.

MY fresh water is approx 80 gal,never more than 1/2 full , 55000 miles later its still there. I had quit doing it for a few years as i was maxed on weight,Took a trip from Kelowna to Prince ALbert Sask,worst highways i have ever being on including I5.Added 20/30 gal ,smoothed it right out, my pin was around 2900.

Did not read past the second page. But try filling the fresh water tank. Then try it and see if that does not smooth the ride out? Being a rear kitchen I bet you will find with a little more weight on the front will make it ride smooth.
On my old truck 2004.5 crew cab 4x4 short bed with our Heartland Landmark Key Largo. I had the same issue, then added fresh water and it took care of it. Then when I went to the Trailer Saver Air ride hitch. That took care of it for sure. But when I went to the Kodiak c5500 it now is not an issue at all.

Make sure your Fresh water tank is forward of the axles.

The bounce is caused do to the length of the slabs of concrete and the spans between the axles, creates a teeter totter affect.
