We currently own a Class C, but are looking to buy a 5th wheel next year. Space, yes you can get more space by buying a larger RV, but the costs go up, 36' Class C or a 42' DP, you can really spend some money not only buying but operating them! You can get a lot of amenities with a 5th wheel for relatively low price. 5th wheel have no engine and those problems disappear. Depending on the tow Vehicle, TV , you can use it as a daily driver when not towing. But before taking the plunge do the research, hang out here ask questions. The last thing, and IMHU the most important make sure that the floor plan of whatever rig you get suites you and your lifestyle. What may seem as a minor inconvenience now may become a major problem in the future, you already mentioned bed height which for you has become a big problem! Check these things out! Good luck!
