Kinda like a desire to equip my Harley Fat Boy for Motocross or maybe setting up a Ducati Monster for the Dakar Rally.
I'll skip the obvious Japanese crotch-rocket street bikes converted for off-road.
However - If you need and/or want an off-road capable 5th wheel in Australia to get from point A to point B.... OK - that's what you need!!.:C
Good luck to those US mfgrs entering the Aussie marketplace with their products.
But, not only is that *not* the case in the USA - - most travel trailer, fifth wheel and motor home owners neither need nor want off-road (or even moderately rough road) capability.
Also - in the USA it would be a niche market, because very few would want one - or be willing to spend the money to purchase same.
Yes, lots of folks take any/all of the above to locations where they launch their off-road adventures in a more suitable vehicle whether it's a motorcycle, ATV, jeep (or other 4x4 vehicle).
Spent lots of time on roads at elevations higher than any of the mountains in Australia - and there is *NO* travel trailer, 5th wheel or motor home going to venture there - no matter how the suspension is modified - period.
(including the mega buck, super whammy, one-off specialty 4x4 MHs).:W
On edit:
BTW - wasn't it CW McCall that had the song a few years back with the lyric - .....
"Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a....caravan"?..:B .:B
Hmmmmm - now what was that title?.:?

With the "quality" of most our major roads here, you damn-near need an off-road suspension just to keep from beating your FW to death, IMO. I'd buy one, even if I never ventured off-road, were I a high-mile RVer. I always thought it was funny that Chip Davis, of Mannheim Steamroller fame (Fresh Aire), wrote the music to McCall's early stuff. Talk about a =contrast=! :-)
