I can offer no statistics to support it, but lower fuel prices I would guess go a long way toward that end. If Gas stays under $3 as a national Avg, and Diesel under $3.75, they will likely stay popular, but if/when gas gets back around $5, watch the smaller rigs gain popularity again.

could be just because. My thought and it is for us as we debate on whether to upgrade to a different fifth wheel or go the motor home route. I think of the maintenance as the major issue and the associated cost with it. I think for us we would rather have the maintenance on the two rather than the one. On the other hand, storage is the next biggie in our thoughts. A fifth wheel offers a lot of room inside and with ever expanding floor plans the dealers offer, they are up there in square foot also. We raised our kids in a 740 square foot town home for a period of time, now we travel in a 300 plus square foot fifth wheel. OH MY, what ideas and thoughts go into our minds.
