- rv2goExplorer IIThe first picture of the truck and 5th wheel looks good. But how is a family of 5 and dog going to fit in the truck?

Those days kids and pets were allowed to be in the TT while the truck is moving. Times have changed. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIWell, it is a 5th wheel, so times haven't changed too much. Still legal in a lot of places here, not sure about Australia, they seem to be pretty locked down there so may not be legal.

No it would not be legal, even then - colliehaulerExplorer IIII like the second picture of the early crew cab truck. I don't remember any crew cabs in the US until the 60's then only the Dodge crew cab.

They were common here. Also I remember but cannot find a photo of a British Truck and a 5th Wheeler around about the same time.
British Trucks have disappeared but these European tugs have taken their place, they are the preferred 5th Wheel towers - FordDiesel250ExplorerI like all of those Aussie fivers!
