I vote for the digital thermometer as well. I keep mine in the truck and use it to check temps on EVERYTHING I tow. I have a Boat, utility and 5th wheel I comes in handy to check my outboards to be sure I have good coolant flow through both engines. Watch for them on sale at Harbor Freight. I also use it to check road surface temps when its extremely hot.
